The Clinical Knowledge Network (CKN) is Queensland Health’s clinical and research information service. CKN provides clinicians with direct access to the latest evidence-based information for point of care decision making, medical, nursing and health research, and ongoing professional development. Resources available through CKN include: * Dynamed - Is a clinical reference tool created by physicians for physicians and other health care professionals for use at the point-of-care. With clinically-organized summaries for more than 3,200 topics, DynaMed provides the latest content and resources for answering most clinical questions during practice. Updated daily, DynaMed editors monitor the content of over 500 medical journals on a daily basis. Each article is evaluated for clinical relevance and scientific validity. The new evidence is then integrated with existing content, and overall conclusions are changed as appropriate, representing a synthesis of the best available evidence. Through this process of Systematic Literature Surveillance, the best available evidence determines the content of DynaMed. * Isabel - Is a diagnosis checklist tool to help clinicians broaden their differential diagnosis and recognize a disease at the point of care. Isabel includes over 6,000 disease presentations by multiple signs and symptoms. The web-based Isabel tool uses the patient's demographics and clinical features to produce a list of possible diagnoses, including time-sensitive "Don't Miss Diagnoses.” * MIMS - Is the web version of the MIMS pharmaceutical product information. It contains both abbreviated and full prescribing information, consumer medicine information and product information for pharmaceuticals available in Australia. It is updated monthly. Also includes MIMS 'Don't Rush to Crush". * The Renal Drug Database - Providing access to over 800 drug monographs, The Renal Drug Database is a key source of prescribing information for clinical and medicines information pharmacists. This comprehensive resource benefits from regular content reviews and updates to ensure it continues to provide trusted and timely information. * Therapeutic Guidelines (eTG Complete) - Is a disease-oriented guidelines for prescribing and give clear, practical and succinct recommendations for therapy. eTG Complete is the online version of the print Therapeutic Guidelines. * AMH Australian Medicines Handbook - Is an independent medicines reference tool for medical practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, students and any health practitioner, providing concise, practical, reliable, comparative drug information and quality use of medicines in Australia. * Medications and Mother's Milk - Is a comprehensive reference of medications and breastfeeding, providing up-to-date information on each drug and its relative safety in breastfeeding mothers and their infants. This reference contains all the current science known about medications in this field and provides the reader with exact data on the degree of transfer of medications into human milk, the effect on mother and infant if known, the relative risks to the infant if any, and the adult pharmacokinetics of the medication.
